Our Pastor
Doug Wesley
Bro. Doug became Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in August 2010. He has served in ministry for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience with him. He has ministered in churches around the central Kentucky area as both a Youth Minister, Associate Pastor and Pastor. Additionally, he taught high school for eight years and has coached high school and middle school basketball.
Our Pastor grew up in a Christian home in Liberty, Kentucky. He became a believer at six years old and felt God’s call to minstry at age 15. He became a pastor at 16 years old while still a high school student. Bro. Doug graduated with degrees from Campbellsville College (now University) and Eastern Kentucky University. In addition, he has done graduate work at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Eastern Kentucky University and Campbellsville University.
Touching lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ is his passion. He preaches and teaches with energy and enthusiasm, seeking to lead folks of all ages toward a meaningful relationship with the Lord. Additionally, he has a heart for missions, having been on five international mission trips and numerous other mission endeavours around our state and nation.
Bro. Doug is joined in ministry by his family. His wife, Terry, teaches at Boyle County Middle School. Emily and Rachel are his two daughers. Emily is a student at Campbellsville University and Rachel attends Lindsey Wilson Collage in Columbia KY. They enjoy being a close family and all are huge UK basketball and football fans.
